Most Dramatic Changes in Decades!
How to Comply with New Requirements Featuring CPSC Chairman, General Counsel; Leading State Attorneys’ General Officials, Top Corporate and Firm Counsel

Living with the New Reforms

Following a year and a half of unprecedented numbers of consumer product recalls, Congress has just passed and the President signed into law the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008.

This one-day Conference, brought to you by BNA, publisher of leading publications in the field of product safety and liability highlights the wide-ranging way in which the legislation will affect manufacturers, importers, and retailers of consumer products.

The program will outline the rapid rollout of new federal standards on lead and phthalates (plasticizers), mandatory third-party testing of toys, and the adoption of voluntary standards as new mandatory rules.  The program will also highlight the emerging role of states in enforcing product safety, including a discussion of limited preemption and the authority of State Attorneys General to enforce federal law.

This conference is different from any briefing or summary you may have received or attended. The entire day of this intensive briefing is focused on practical tips from the faculty to incorporate new information and decisions into your strategies for product development, marketing, and crisis management.
